What attracted you to join Green Solar International?
"I was primarily drawn to the company's focus on specific project typologies, which allows us to specialize and deliver significant added value to our clients. Additionally, the medium and long-term strategy and the commitment to emerging technologies like green hydrogen, beyond traditional renewable projects, represent a new and exciting challenge for me."
What is your experience in the renewable energy sector?
"My career spans various areas. I began as a consultant for energy companies, where I gained essential knowledge that allowed me to progress professionally and build extensive experience in the solar industry. My experience was particularly enriched during my time at companies like Repsol and Prosolia Energy, where I have mainly specialized in utility-scale project development, leading teams both nationally and internationally. At GSI, I initially joined as a Business Development Manager and have now advanced to the position of Managing Director Spain."
How do you approach this new challenge of leading Green Solar International in Spain?
"I embark on this new professional stage with great enthusiasm and a strong desire to contribute to the evolution of our subsidiary in Spain and other potential markets. I bring with me the experience I've gathered throughout my career and my studies in an Executive MBA. I am immensely grateful for the trust the Executive Committee of Green Solar International has placed in me."
What do you consider the biggest challenge in the development of green hydrogen, and how do you plan to tackle it?
“Green hydrogen still presents numerous challenges today, such as defining specific regulations (permission for access and connection to the gas network, location of the electrolyzer on non-industrial land, etc.), evolving electrical infrastructure to have greater capacities for large electrical consumption, increasing the push for subsidies that apply not only to CapEx but also focus on OpEx so that consumers can adapt their processes and accelerate this transition, and a real demand catalyzed or stimulated through penalties on fossil fuel consumption.
At Green Solar International in Spain, we are working on establishing strategic alliances with the main public and private sector players to encourage initiatives and projects that promote the creation and development of a new ecosystem around Renewable Hydrogen.”
At Green Solar International, we are delighted to welcome Pepe as the new Managing Director in Spain. We are confident that his experience and leadership will be crucial in driving our expansion and addressing market challenges.
