In the words of Pepe León, our current Managing Director in Spain, he highlights "This achievement marks a significant milestone in Spain's journey towards leadership in Green Hydrogen production. The approval of this project will help address one of the sector's main current challenges: the demand for Green Hydrogen."

These projects, which include cross-border connections and strategic hydrogen storages, represent a significant shift towards a cleaner and more sustainable economy. With an estimated investment of around 5.9 billion euros in Spain, these infrastructures are key to achieving European and Spanish objectives of energy independence, industrial competitiveness, and decarbonization.

The H2Med corridor, which will connect Portugal, Spain, and France, and the Spanish Hydrogen Backbone, are concrete examples of how international collaboration can drive innovation and progress in the energy sector. Additionally, the designation of Enagás as the provisional manager of the Hydrogen Backbone by the Spanish Government underscores the national commitment to this transition.

This news not only represents a step forward on the path to a more sustainable economy but also boosts the fulfillment of the RePowerEU Plan and the European Union's clean energy objectives.

At Green Solar International, we enthusiastically celebrate this significant step forward for the sector. We are eager to receive more news that continues to drive the development of the hydrogen market and reduce associated regulatory uncertainties.
